Biography
Evangelist Debissa Mengistu was born and raised in Ganguwa, in the Dilla area. He first heard the Good News of Jesus Christ through an evangelist and responded by receiving the Lord into his life. He grew up in the Kale Heywet Church of Ganguwa, beginning his spiritual journey in Sunday School and later serving faithfully in the church choir and as a solo singer.
While serving through music, Debissa experienced a Holy Spirit calling to full-time ministry. In response, he completed a formal two-year Bible School program to equip himself for gospel work. He is currently sent to Bonga, Bitta District, in Southwest Ethiopia, to serve as a church planter and proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Evangelist Debissa is married to Asrat, and together they are blessed with two sons, Jalalle and Abissa. His family faithfully supports and shares in his journey of serving God and the ministry.
